Ladies Summer Lunch

Having already attended an amazing weekend conference at HIC earlier in the year when I was invited by my sister-in-law Patricia, Women’s Ministry Leader at LIC, which contained excellent bible teachings from women guest speakers and personal pampering sessions provided by the amazing talents of Trudy’s ministry ‘More than Rubies’ and so much more.

I knew I would be in for a truly blessed time at the Ladies Summer Lunch to be held in a picturesque country hotel in an idyllic setting in Berkshire. We were encouraged to ‘dress up’ for a special occasion and I was not disappointed when I arrived at the venue to be greeted by elegantly dressed ladies and found the welcoming atmosphere to resemble that of a wedding banquet.

I was escorted to my seat at one of the sumptuously decorated tables with my place name and a personal gift beside it. The ladies at the table made me feel at ease with their smiles and easy conversation. After a brief introduction and blessing we were served by dedicated staff to a delicious meal that tasted as good as it looked! The conversations flowed between courses and whilst we all got to know a little more about each other we began to share our own personal experiences of God working in our lives! This led to open-hearts, tears and laughter and was encouraging and at times challenging, but at the end of the afternoon I truly felt I was blessed and had perhaps even been a blessing to others! I realised that no matter how difficult our situations were and despite our differing backgrounds, when God is involved and we can share how He has transformed our lives and Godly conversation is made around a meal table, the Holy Spirit really moves in the hearts of those who need to know our Saviour’s redeeming grace. I can’t wait until next time when we meet again and if I know my sister-in-law it will be even more special than the last, the location is set in the Caribbean and it is my prayer and desire that I and many other women will be able to join other ladies at what promises to be a truly blessed and God inspired time!’

Ladies Summer Lunch 2012

I started attending both the Ladies Breakfast & Lunch events about a year ago and have so far attended most of these. These have become occasions I always look forward to as I enjoy everything they offer – meeting and sharing with other ladies, building friendships, hearing encouraging presentations and testimonies and of course good food! Always an uplifting time! I would encourage every lady to come along. You will not be disappointed!

Ladies Summer Lunch 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013
My first Ladies Luncheon was much more than what I expected. I thought it was going to be a bunch of Christian ladies going out for a nice lunch and an opportunity to wear something really nice. I walked into the room, and oh my, it was beautiful.  The tables were beautifully set and background Christian music playing. I sat with some lovely ladies, some I knew and some I didn’t, and not all were Christians, but you know, it didn’t matter because I was made to feel so welcome. You could really feel the presence and love of Jesus.  Everything was done and said in His name, giving glory to Him.

I sat and listened to ladies giving testimonies of the things God had done in their lives. How he had healed, restored, and loved them. About the relationships they had learnt to build with Jesus, learning to trust Him. That summer I was in a very dark and lonely place.  I went to church, I laughed and talked as normal, but deep inside I was hurting, lost, crying and desperate to experience the unconditional love of Jesus.  Well, I got more than good food and a chance to wear something nice.

I found out that Jesus didn’t just save me and left me with all those issues and baggage I was holding onto. He saved me to give me abundant life and Wholeness in Him. That first Ladies Luncheon in 2010 was the beginning of a turn-around in my life. God put some beautiful ladies in my life that year, ladies He used with his Words to show me that he loves me, he is with me always, he will never leave me and all his promises to me are true.

The following year I was a different person.  I knew who I was and whose I am.  Instead of crying I was laughing. I was excited about 2012 and looking forward to 2013.
